I love you so much, Dirty Dancing. When you’re near, I can’t think of anything else except how much I love you (answer: A LOT.) You pre-occupy my thoughts after you leave, and I spend the rest of my afternoon remembering how quickly you set up your characters and how your score reflects your dazzling soundtrack singles.
Sometimes I wish we could be together all the time — I would take you with me everywhere so we could share life toegther. On the subway you could tell me again about 1960s summer resort life and class struggles. I wouldn’t get frustrated at work or on long lines, because you’d just remind me that if love could grow from a dirty back-alley abortion, there must be a silver lining on my everyday annoyances. When I meet someone new I’d introduce them to you, knowing that once they meet you, they will understand my innermost soul. Because it is you, Dirty Dancing — you are my soul. I mean, I’ve carried a watermelon, too — you know? You GET me –no, you complete me.
I want to live in your world. A world where a there are exciting sexy subcultures in the kitchen after hours, where smart little sisters end up with the hot older dance instructors, and when it all gets too scary you can just wake up Detecive Lenny Briscoe in the next room.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for the show 14 Kisses and the effort you and your cast clearly put into it. The host love story was funny and awkward, and it would be great if more NYC shows were as well written and rehearsed; I’m new to the city and was getting discouraged by too many bad shows. If you recommend other shows/theaters that are doing work of that calibre, please share! Thanks again.
